Just came across this on I8HMUD. Apparently someone in Quebec has been working hard...!

That's very cool...but everytime I see something like that, I wonder how much it alters the integrity of the base vehicle and affect handling, reliability, etc. That said, I'd drive the p*ss out of it!
I wonder-is the cab pass-thru?

I saw this on IH8Mud last week...if there is anything on the planet more bad-*** than this, please advise!

That is Soenke's (SP?) rig. He's on 'Mud and ExPo. And you're right, it's by far one of the coolest rigs around.

Soenke's is among the top of my favorites too (edit: toned it down)

There is a custom 45 with a tuned up 12H-T bopping around California and points south on the forums here, and a ton of sweet 80 series setups all over Europe, not to mention the outfitted 70 pop tops everywhere. Coen's truck is sweet (but mostly I love it for them, because of their passion and willingness to share their travels so openly). So is the Swiss couple that came through the Americas a few years ago. Low key, solid build.

Like you, I have a preference for solid and low key. (as much as older fj's can be low key.) I like the one you posted as well!

Soenke's is among the top of my favorites too, but I wouldn't say "by far." It is weird, the compulsion to promote the hell out of everything these days to get Likes, +1s, or youtube hits (ultimate, extreme, most, best, biggest, blah). Anyways...

I am guessing the double windshield is to use on gravel roads and such to protect against broken glass?
