I bought a 2003 7.3 E350 a few weeks ago and quickly discovered why the price was so low, one of the injector cups was bad and it was getting diesel in the coolant so off to shop it went and replaced all injector cups and entire coolant system

Not always that way... My 7.3 came wrapped in a Type 3 for less than the minimum charge for a diesel mechanic to work on a 6.0.
<1k usd at today's rates. 2.5 years later it's only needed a fuel bowl refresh and a glow plug relay...
Has anyone here actually done injectors? Removing that front VC bolt is a bear! Not sure how I am going to do it on the drivers side.
Ended up pulling the alternator and bracket to do the passenger side, don't really want to pull the AC to do the drivers.

I'll have to see how it goes together on the passenger side, did you pull the solinoids off?I don't remember what I used but I know I didn't have to remove the compressor to get at it. It's definitely tight in there tho.
In a truck, this would be a breeze. Not so much in the van, plus I normally just do basics, this is a bit much for me.I was going to give you a hard time, then I remembered this is in a van
While I didn't personally do my injectors, the shop I used mentioned what a pita it is to do this job on vans. I believe they removed a motor mount in order to lower or move the block for clearance. Also at least one injector had to be removed/replaced by disassembling the injector in situ... But my memory can be foggy, so...
It was not cheap either, bill total was $4692 and change, including a few other small bits and bobs.
Number 3 (I think) needs the firewall modified or the engine mount removed and the engine tilted so it can come out. Pulling the injectors is not a problem but removing all the crap to get to them is. If you can do it without removing the solenoids you are much better off. They just don't seem to be as good after pulling the solenoids and replacing them. Although that is how I have gotten around the firewall issues with #3 on one occasion.
Be warned it will smoke a lot when you start it back up. And I mean a lot and for a rather long time.
