Some life circumstances are forcing me to sell my unfinished 4x4 ambulance project. I purchased the ambulance in San Francisco and drove it to my then home in Arizona. I switched jobs and drove it to NJ about 5 years ago while it was still 2wd and progress slowed down and now unfortunately I have to move on. It is 100% rust free and has never seen salt. I glassed in the emergency light holes and was going to add LED toy hauler flood lights (included) in the rear and I installed a curved LED dual light bar with custom mounts where the original emergency light bar was. It currently sits on Super Duty 17” steel wheels and roller tires. It will fit 35”-37” easily. It has a brand new ATS stage 6 4R100 transmission with all billet internals and matching ATS billet toque converter. Probably overkill but that's the route I took when I thought I’d be buried in it. I purchased an Expo Vans bracket kit (no longer available) as well as an entire 2016 king ranch roller with 9k miles for the running gear. The new ring and pinions and locker were professionally set up professionally at Globex Performance with Motorcraft 4.30 Ring and Pinions and all new bearings and install kits. Gears still need to be broken in. Instead of shortening the factory side saddle tank and reducing the volume of fuel I installed a rust free 37 gallon rear tank with associated cross member and all factory fuel lines and wiring from a donor 7.3 E-450. It’s already plumbed with a line for a diesel heater. The interior is gutted and a blank slate. I am 6’ and I have to bend slightly to stand. I planned on a sky light to have a comfortable standing area. I could go on and on and on. Engine runs great but it will need to be towed and a few things buttoned up before its road ready. It does have some cosmetic damage as seen on the passenger rear. I was going to add a diamond plate outdoor storage box in that area that I will include if wanted.
Things that need to be completed off the top of my head: shocks, t-case shifter (included), brakes freshened, speedo correction, interior build, tires and wheels, locker wiring, front end alignment, paint.
My original purchase price from the Ambulance was $10k, the ATS trans and torque converter over $10k, axles, gears, t-case, brackets, drive shafts, lockers, setup, over $10k Miscellaneous things pop-out windows, mirrors, hitch, front clip, sway bar, track bar, newer Econoline seats, fuel tank, lighting, hardware etc. etc. I am in about ~$35K total without counting hundreds of hours. The hard parts are finishe. It hurts to think about 😢
I would like to get $20k, possible trades for non-projects, boat, truck, CASH.
All serious opinions, criticism or interest is welcome. It’s located at 08827 New Jersey if anyone wants to check it out.
