Is there an easy diesel option for this truck...something that mates to the transmission?

Just curios

Yes there is.
A 6.2 diesel was offered in 1983. Some say it's a turd some say other. I had an '83 3/4 GMC with one in and it was fine. Certainly wasn't like my brothers Powerstroke but it was decent.
There is "kit" on the market that include mounts and other items to bolt a Cummins 6bt into this era GM product trucks, blazers, suburbans.

Bump for good looking truck

I like your truck and have tried to make sense of it's purchase, to no avail, yet.
How is $9999 a big price drop from the earlier price of $9900? Good luck with the sale.

should have been $9900, just hit wrong key. Original price was $12.5k as seen in second post. I have considerably more in it, but need to move on. Love the truck, just have a few too many...

thanks, just checked it actually, and getting 14mpg around town with lots of stop/go and a real 17.6 highway, 65mph and below. All stock, no roofrack, and no huge tires, 255/85-16, and a 350 in lieu of a big block w/ a 700R4 O/D. Pretty decent considering age and size.
