Lookin' good man! Glad to see that you had the same idea as me when it came to the steering, and how to attaches it to the pitman arm. My other option is to drive out that ball joint and weld in a sleeve so I can just use a bolt/heim set-up. What did you decide with the cross-member, is it going to clear the diff enough to just roll with it?

Thanks, the fab work was fun.

I'm going to change it when I get back in town, which might not be until Thanksgiving. I'm still debating whether or not to just get rid of the cross piece. I'm going to make the the existing part that attaches to the frame wrap around the other side and use the existing sleeve in the frame and the bolt holes to beef up the frame there. My other Idea was to just cut most of the bottom cross piece off and put 3/16 plate between the two cross pieces.

It's turned out pretty good over all. More costly than I had thought, but it will be worth it. And it usually ends up more expensive. I need to get the back end up about 5 or more inches. I'm going to make a bracket like I did for the front shackle and get the shackle below the frame.

I didn't use the Heim because the guys at Blue Torch Fabworks said they wouldn't use the heim on an on road vehicle.

I'm using a 1 ton shackle flip and 6" shackle from DIY4x.com for my rear. I'm hoping that will bring the rear up enough to match the front.

I am trying to decide what to do with the front bumper. I like the original bumper, but wanted to eventually mount a winch. I do a lot of solo driving in the back country. I was thinking about a winch plate bolted the 6x6 angle on the front. Then, I would mount the the bumper in front of it with a swing up license plate with the fairlead behind it. I'm looking for input from you guys.

I looked at the DIY4x.com ones. I was afraid that it would lift my rear too much. Do you know how much it will lift it?

No idea, but I'll probably be able to tell you in the next week or two. Hopefully I can get the van in the shop and start that process this week.... I think the shackle flip and 6" shackle will make it sit just the way I want it too. I hope anyway... lol

Measurements

I'm trying to build a fuel tank for a diesel Espar heater I have and want to install. I would like to get it cut out while I am on the road and build it when I am home for Thanksgiving before I go back out of town. Could someone get me a few measurements on their van. I'm looking to put it in front of the rear axle tucked up in between the frame. I know the frame to frame width is 38" but does anyone have the measurements between the cross pieces on the frame and the height of the frame?

The frame is a little over 5" tall, I don't remember the exact measurement (it was a few months ago when I measured), I just know that my shackle flip that's 4 1/2" will fit with room to spare.... My van is a shorty, so not sure how that affects the distance between the braces? But I'll pull some measurements for ya. I may make it out there this weekend, otherwise it'll be monday before I get there....

I bought the springs used, but the guy I bought them from said it was a lifted lift kit. I did take a few springs out of it to make it sit lower.
