The VSS is needed for the motor control functions. There is always a way, just may have to invent one in this case. There is a unit available that replaces the output shaft cover on the split case providing a reluctor ring and pick up for it. This unit or something similar may work on the Orion. Trying to get the Toyota electronics to speak to the GM ECU is an issue many guys have wrestled with, I prefer the KISS approach to all of it foremost being the electrical side. More complication always leads to more maintenance and repairs down the road.

It can be done, I am sure. You just might have to make a few concessions along the way though.

OK, thanks for the info. A ways down the road anyway; my 2F is still running strong and leak-free.
