88 FJ62 Rebuild and LSX Swap

I like the seats OK myself but would prefer more thigh support. My wife is 6' and I am 6'3" and both prefer seats with more seat depth. She wants her old Volvo S80 seats in her 80.

Sometimes a tool is a matter of a specific need. You guys that build or otherwise play with GM motors know the old trick of driving the oil pump on a SBC with a drill to pre lube the motor. No such luck with an LSX series motor. I've used a hand pump in the past but wanted something better, easier. I saw this in a magazine article on line some time ago and built one for myself.

It has a SBC oil pump mounted under the lid, driven with a common driver shaft for the same oil pump.

Drilled out a second drain plug and tapped it for 1/8 pipe

What I liked most about them was the ability to adjust height I am 5ft10" and like to sit upright with my knees bent, for really long drives this is the most comfortable for me. On long trips I found them to be good but I am sure there are better seats out there.

Cheers

Funny how that when you get older you are much better about spending money and time to make your life easier :)
