Hello to everyone out there!
It's time to let my beloved Ford go on to its next adventure. I've been building this truck for about 4 years and its taken my family all over CA, NV, UT and Baja. We are ready for the next project have to sell one to make way for another.
The truck:
-1992 F350 crew cab w 7.3 idi diesel. One of the last mechanical diesels, requires but 1 hot wire to run. These aren't fast trucks, but they are damn near indestructable and dont care what you put in the tank. 194,091 miles.
-Rebuilt A4OD trans, fresh fluids.
-Dana 60 front, Sterling 10.25 rear.
-They don't make em like this anymore. Leaf sprung, heavy and stout, this is a truck made to work. It is simple, robust, easily repaired and tough. Simply put, it's an old workhorse that you'd be hard pressed to damage. An excellent overland platform for remote dirt, not Starbucks.
-Mods:
-Knapheide utility bed. Massive lockable external storage.
-Custom pop top camper built onto bed. Interior hosts queen size (+) bed that turns to couches. Can fit 2 motorcycles inside WITH cushions in.
-Awning
-094 Ford turbo w Flowmaster 40 series. Set 8psi
-BGF AT 315/75r16 w fullsize spare
-Jerries, shovel, high lift
-Lockable top box
-LED light bar on front
-Trans cooler w dual fans
-Old Skool Hydroflame furnace. Requires no electricity.
-K&N intake
-Facet lift pump, glow plug relay bypass, Powermaster gear reduction starter.Fires up no problem on the coldest days.
-Comes with everything needed to swap to 4.10 axle gears. Haven't got around to that.
Basically this truck needs nothing but the right kind of person. Sure you could fix it and make it pretty and quiet, or you could put diesel in the tank and go. For someone who wants adventure and doesnt have a mountain of cash, this will get you there (and probably farther then the spendy stuff). I wouldnt hesitate to take this thing anywhere. Gotta say, I love this truck!
Asking $12,000 obo. The Woolly Mammoth is located in Reno, NV. Contact Dan. Many thanks!
