I decided not to use the stock shifter for a few reasons. First mine was broken. They do fail. get gummed up, stiff, corrode and lock up. I can put the shifter where I want it. When I mount it to the floor, I could move it over a little to leave the center more open. I wasnt sure how much the floor would have to be cut out if I got the factory shifter since the trans is not in a tunnel, the pivot is further away. That may make the hole and the boot to cover it more.. And a new shifter setup is $45 for just the part that mounts to the trans. I had all of what I built justt sitting around in the basement.
Only thing I dont have is the push down to put it into 4low. I could make it a gated shifter later. But I dont think there is a real need for it.
