Used a small grinder to tabs and made opening just a hair larger than needed to make sure lugs would center wheels. I think the best alternative for 16" wheels is tacoma aluminum they are available cheap and you only need to remove 1mm of material to make them fit and im sure that can be done with a course cylinder hone.I am trying that next.

Now that I think of it. I might go with the aluminum ones and do what you did. I wish they'd fit on my lathe at work so I could remove them aluminum uniformly, but they're too big to fit. I've opened up the bore on wheel for my other cars so it's not too much of a hassle.

There are a few post on CL and other sites that have the 16" Tacoma/4runner wheels for sale. I might check them out now. I'm in NNJ as well. Not too far from you in Parsippany.
