I listed the van on eBay. It is a no reserve auction with a $.99 start bid.

Give it time, often times the serious bidders are going to wait until almost the end of the auction to avoid bidding the price up. Also watch out for 0 or 1 feedback bidders - a trick that unscrupulous people will do is use a shill account to "win" and have the second highest bidder be their real account, hoping that when the initial winner doesn't complete you will offer it to them at their bid.

I generally won't bid in auctions where I see a lot of very low feedback bidders, because I get wary that someone is trying to bid up the price artificially (either for a different buyer or the seller).

I personally wait for the last 15-20 seconds of any auction to place a bid, helps to avoid being outbid or having to bid higher, I'm surprised more bidders are not smart enough to do the same. Last thing I want to do is pay more than needed or pad the pockets of ebay. As for the fake/shill accounts, I thought ebay/paypal had cracked down on this a lot the last 5 years and made it much harder for this to happen? I used to be a PowerSeller but avoid selling on there unless I have to lately, still buy quite a bit though since I got back into fishing and bought a boat, that list seems to never end.

I guess that's the beauty of a no reserve auction, folks will bid as little as possible to win. And BTW, you may wish to read the forum rules regarding ebay links.

Take no offense here but this is how people end up paying too much for stuff. You don't "win" an auction. You buy stuff at a good price or you pay too much. People that have this notion of winning are the ones that will pay too much.

I remember selling a set of headers one time, supposed to fit my V8 CJ but didn't. Installed but never used as in never fired the motor through them. Put them on eBay and sold those used (sort of) headers for $25 more than I paid for them from Summit Racing. And they paid for the shipping on top of that. But by god the guy "won" the auction.
