'97 Northstar TC650 project

Well I did it again. I picked up another project. This one is a '97 Northstar TC650, fits my Ram 3500 SB perfect. My last project the Skamper 072s that I have(my son uses it) is laid out pretty similar.
This Northstar will need a new ceiling and canvas. I'll remove the roof and rebuild it like the Skamper. Curious if anyone has replaced canvas recently who they used?

If you haven't contacted Northstar to ask for recommendations for the canvas, you should. I don't know if they are still as good about responding to remarkably random questions about old campers as they were a few years ago, but they were super helpful whenever I contacted them.

NS used to be great about responding. It would not surprise me if they have the paterns still for the older ones.
That would be great if they did. I'm probably going to have to connect with them about the canvas. Every time I go to a website that does camper canvas they never list Northstar which is odd unless Northstar only has their specific parts for dealers only.

I talked to Northstar a few years ago about new canvas for my 2000 TC800, Getting it from Northstar was not an option for me.
I ended up getting a Hardside, so never went further

I salvaged a canvas from a Skamper project and mounted it on my Northstar to create a pattern for the canvas shop. It's approximately 20" too long so I have folded each side and marked where it should be for proper fitment. Everything else lines up fine. We'll see how it goes.

Ceiling damage 20231230_163141.jpg20231230_163118.jpg20230626_100732.jpgHere's the main damage. The right rear corner that jacks up and is a tie down point has water damage. The ceiling as well. I'll be replacing the wood on the corner and removing the top to rebuild the roof. I didn't want to start this process if I couldn't get a new canvas. I finally received a new one based off the make shift pattern so it's a go now!

I've been so busy with other projects, but got the corner fixed inside and out (haven't sealed it) I'll seal everything at one time. On the roof I replaced some wood framing, replaced the ceiling sheets with pre-lined luan, new L.E.D. clearance lights and wiring from the PO. New interior lights need installed and Im installing 3"x24" 1/8" steel corner braces to support HECO tension. Then flip lid over install fan, seal roof and slap it back on camper!
