'99 F250 SD 7.3 TD repair

I cannot find any thread dealing with this, but I thought it might be important for those owners of F250s. I had to complete the following major repairs at these approximate mileages.

30,000 down tube gasket leak (may be leaking again)
100,000 new rear brake pads
100,000 new injectors (not really necessary)
138,000 new T Case (catastrophic failure...truck would not move)
138,000 new glow plugs and relay (poor cold weather starting)
140,000 new front brake pads and rotors

Now it needs new front ball joints.

What else should I expect?
When should I expect to have to change front unit bearings?
I am wondering if it is trade in time?

I change oil and filter every 3000 miles.
Air filter every other oil change.
Fuel filter at least once a year (that now is 10-12,000 miles).
Fluids (T case, tranny, coolant, axles, etc) per maintenance recommendations.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I have the same truck except mine is a crew cab. I bought it new. I change the oil every 5000 mi. as recommended by the factory. It has 240,000 miles on it and still going strong. The only major event I had with mine is it lost a water pump at about 140,000 miles and that was expensive to replace. I have experienced the things most everyone has had to deal with on this truck and they are the cam timing sensor (there is now a recall on that) and the cold start relay. I recently had a fuel leak at the fuel filter housing but I fixed it myself. (the little O rings and grommets were expensive at the Ford Stealership) The truck is still in great shape and I plan on keeping it for many years.

I have 3 - 7.3L Ford diesels. 2 are work trucks and one is a personal / work truck. All trucks run Delo 15-40.

2000 F350 7.3, 6spd, Reg cab long bed single wheel. Stock. Consistently carries 2k-3k lbs in the bed and tows 4k-12k lbs. Mostly around town deliveries with multiple drivers. (aka - a hard life)
Purchased w/ ~40kmi in 2003 Currently has ~120k
-Water pump replaced twice (first pump from Ford dealer went out in less than a year, second pump from Parts America is a year old and fine.)
Lots of brakes and tires. Shocks replaced at ~100k
Clutch just replaced at ~120k

1999 F450 7.3, 6spd, Regular Cab, Flat bed w/ PTO. Hypertech programmer. weighs 12,700 empty. Consistently carries 4k+ on the bed and tows 7k-12k lbs. Also a delivery vehicle.
purchased in 2004 w/ 85k miles. Currently has ~120k
- IDM failed at ~100k
- Parking brake assemblies have failed twice
- Clutch at ~70k (replaced w/ factory parts)
- Clutch at ~110k (replaced w/ Luk)
- Front ball joints ~118k

1999 F250 7.3, 6spd, Crew cab, short bed Edge programmer, 3" down pipe, wicked wheel, isspro boost / pyro, Walker BTM, Ford High capacity air filter / box
daily driver, occasionally tow 1k - 12k
purchased w/ 120k mi in 2005, currently has 190k mi
- performance mods done at 120k
- All fluids changed and synthetic lubes (exc engine) used
- KYB shocks installed at 120k
- clutch replaced at 125k w/ Luk
- Water pump at ~130k
- Engine rebuilt and injectors replaced at 140k
#7 injector failed and burned the #7 piston and ring event though pre-turbo avg egts were below 1200F. Cylinder was scored and required sleeve. The rest of the engine looked good, but decided to rebuild the entire thing w/ IH parts. All pistons, valves, bearings etc were replaced. New injectors (I think they were from Bean's Diesel Performance but don't recall)
- Drivers side ball joints replaced at ~150k
- Front leaf springs replaced at ~150k
- HPOP failed and was replaced at ~175k
- Alternator at ~178k
- Throwout bearing failed at ~180k
- Rear driveshaft rebuilt at ~185k (not really bad, just piece of mind)
- Alternator at ~185k
- Front CV joint failed at ~187k, rebuilt front driveshaft

That is about all i will allow myself to recall. So, the moral of the story is if you work the heck out of it and treat it badly, it will be problem free :)

Thanks guys!
I was just wondering what to expect next. It sounds like I am pretty much on track for at least 200,000 miles.
I have a rather light Lance camper (2000 lbs) I have hauled pretty much all over. I had a 29' Hitchhiker II I hauled for a few trips around the states, but got rid of it just before fuel prices jumped. Now I have a 20' Airstream (5000 lb gvw) I will be towing. Not much effort for this truck.

Thanks again for your replies!

I'd say you're doing pretty well!! Check the drag link, tie rod ends. the Dynatrac free spin hub kit is a great upgrade/option.
