I come from OME HD but for going to 32" or 33" with my CRD engine wasn't impossible without cut a lots....:) if you are going to install front bumper and winch I think you must considered a +4"

Below OME HD and 255/70 R16

ok I am still thinking about going with a 4" kit but I have been looking and seeing a lot of WJ's with the OME/Bilstein combo lift. In all seriousness how are the OME lifts really doing? Hows the flex, on road performance, off road performance, are you losin much lift when installing bumpers and winches?

OME are progressive rate and are the best coil you can buy for the money, they were designed specifically for each vehicle, unlike some springs that will fit several vehicles of various weights and sizes.

I know you can get the 10mm spacers with OME springs. Are those to help with the added weight of bumpers? I have a message to Nick @ Kolak to further discuss with him an OME kit and see what he thinks. I am not looking for a rock crawler just a solid offroader. If I need a 4" lift to accommodate the front winch bumper and rear bumper and tire carrier than I will but if I can get a solid lift that can handle the weight with a decent size say 32" tire without having to go to 4" that would work too.

You will get a better price on OME products through http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/ than Kolak or anyone else. Matter of fact, I am not sure Kolak really has much experience with OME as a user or vendor. And the spacers are to level things out in addition to reducing road noise but do not affect the load capacity of the springs. Having used their products I personally will never run anything but OME on my vehicles unless there is no other option. Do a bit of research on it and you will see why, aside from user error you will find that every rig running OME suspension handles better than stock even though it is being lifted higher than stock. A WJ with OME suspension and 235/85r16 tires with proper body protection will go anywhere your nerves dare to take you.

4.5" Clayton, on 265s.

3 kids here as well. Kinda tight depending on how it's packed...

Excellent highway manners.

Man that looks good Chase! I'd love to go with Clayton but we just don't have that kind of money. Although it does make me want to go with the IRO LA kit that much more. As for kids I only only have two so I get a little more room that way.

20150614_105652.jpgNY20150614_105652.jpg20150614_105652.jpg I would go with long arms at 4" trust me it's night and day .highway driving is actually enjoyable. I started with the Iron rock basic 4" kit and added from there. I now have the full critical path set-up and love it but it's not enough for me and I'll be adding new 6.5" springs. If your go this route just be sure to order everything adjustable.

If I do I will start with the critical path 4" LA kit with adjustable arms and track bar. Eventually I will probably add the rear kit as well.

If you'll start with 4" lift, there are other some little think to do:
1) front quicker disconnect
2) front drive shaft

I'll put in my two cents here. Honestly, a WJ with a 2" budget boost, bilsteins, and ADDCO rear sway bar can be a VERY capable vehicle. At this height, with 265/70/17's (31.6" tire), the road manners and gas mileage will be very good and quite capable in the majority of situations. I've had both expedition style rigs and extreme rock crawlers and for road trips with light offroading you will be hard pressed to find a better bang-for-buck setup on the WJ.

Yes, the budget boost is cheap, but it does absolutely nothing to increase load capacity or improve handling.

Thanks. I went back and forth for a while between going up a size to 285s, and maybe the 6" springs... That would've meant 5 tires, blah blah.... I'm happy with it for now, so, it'll stay this way.

It has Bilstein 5100s, no rear sway bar, and front Quicker Discos, gears traction devices, etc.

No, the budget boost won't do either. But, the Bilsteins, and Addco will go a long way in the handling dept. that combo with OME springs, or OME springs and shocks, would make a great DD.

Mine is fine for me. Does what I need it to. It isn't a DD though. I have a service van for work.

The option is still there for just running an OME HD lift I'm just trying to get solid opinions and information. Although it does seem that a vast majority of information I am getting is pointing towards a 4" and LA for the on road ride and added flex. I am trying to do this one time so I am seeking all the information I can. My biggest issue is the unknown terrain I may encounter. I could end up in a place where a 4" LA lift would be much appreciated, like say some trails in Colorado, or I may not see anything that an OME lift couldn't handle. The few constants I have to factor in is the weight of a front winch bumper and a rear bumper with tire carrier and on road ride and handling.
