Second that. I definitely prefer the blacked out look to chrome as well.

Ha Thanks. I'm glad I'm finally getting rid of the chrome and going to something that looks better and I can fix when I scratch the heck out of it

Well I finished up the last rim and Im quite happy with how it turned out for twenty bucks in supplies.

Now see that looks good with the white out. I'm putting new shoes on Stormy tomorrow and everyone says go black out. But then again it's a white truck with black rims.

Thanks everyone! Ya Im actually going to clear coat the rims and then paint the grill hopefully tomorrow. And I started with the black letters out and ended up paying to switch it. I guess for me a 35" tire on a 16" rim looked bland without some color. Plus against a black rim it contrasts nicely

what did you do to prep the wheels before paint? i'm guessing there aluminum?

Is that the Duplicolor wheel paint? I've had really good luck with it.

That's what I did on my H3 (with very dark hammered paint) and it looked really nice

I washed and sanded the finish on all the rims to make sure the paint stayed on well and then just taped em up and started painting
I actually used rustoleum wheel paint. (I didn't buy it for the truck originally) But it seems to have worked really well. hopefully it holds up. And I leveled the truck but with the ARB and winch its basically back at stock height now. My h3 came stock with 33" tires which all h3s can run. To get full flex with 35" tires however you need to level them.
I hadnt even thought of that but I may or I may paint it black. I think it would look good with a small American flag right there though
