1. Welcome aboard.
2. You are perhaps the luckiest 16 year old in MI, if not the US of A. Count your blessings to get to do such travel at your age. Coolness!
3. You have a great photographer's eye. Keep up the good work.

Nice job Ben! Great job with the pictures and writeup. That's a great first post. You guys covered alot of area, good for you.

Thank you, sir.

+1. Travelin' skills and photo skills at 16, I'm impressed.

Welcome to the party!

Thanks you, sir.

Went to Mackinac Island at the beginning of this month. Took pictures at some of the same spots.

Looks like you had a good time.

We didn't make it to the Island this time, we were running short on cash at that time. Maybe next year though.

Nice report. You have a good photographic eye, It'll take you far if you let it.

Thank you, sir. I really like to take pictures of stuff like this.

You are a very lucky young man. I would have killed for time like that when I was 16 years old. You took some very nice pics. I hope to get my 70year old father to the U.P. next year. Keep up the good work.

Thanks you sir. We take a trip like this once a year, next year I am going to try and save enough to get my Jeep up there.

Excellent report and great pics as well! You have a good eye for the pic-taking I think. I look forward to more reports about you & your dad taking trips.

Thank you, sir.

If you ever have any questions while on Drummond Island, just go to the Bear Track Inn and ask Steve Walker. He knows the trails on the island inside & out. The restraunt also serves a great breakfast too. Fossil Ledges is a nice stop up on the north side of the island out past the Maxton Plains. My wife and I were up there in May and helped resign a bunch of the trails to ORV Routes. Its a great place for a nice trailride!

Did you go up there with the Michigan Wheelers guys to resign the trails? That looked like fun. BTW, i'm Jeepguts on ADV4x4Online and ZJeepMI on GL4x4

I myself get bored at Silver Lake after a trip or 2 around them but to each their own. One of my co-workers is over there about every weekend over the summer. There are a lot of nice toys their to look at too.

I usually love SL but this time it was too packed to enjoy. The dirtbikes on one wheel passing me at 70 MPH makes me nervous. I spent a lot of time hanging on the beach with my brother. There is a ton of nice trucks there though.

Another spot you guys may consider going is Rocks & Valleys Offroad Park in Harrison. Your dad may be a little worried about going to an ORP but there is something there for everyone. I don't have a heck of a lot done to my Tacoma and I had a blast. I have been to other ORPs and got bored because everything was made for Jeeps on at least 35s. This place is awesome! Ron Price is the host and a great one at that. He will be happy to help you out in any way he can.

My grandparents live about 10 minutes from R&V, and that is the only other place we travel to in the summer. We have been there twice so far, and we will be up there labor day weekend, so if you happen to be coming up we will have to go wheeling. I tried video last time I was there with my old point and shoot camera (didn't like it as much as photography), check it out:

Once again, thanks for the excellent report! The ship pics are great. I got hundreds of them on my PC from trips to the Soo, Welland Canal and locally taken.

Thanks again!

Nice pictorial and trip report Ben! I like that last shot of those expansive dunes. Another warm welcome to the Portal from a fellow Michigander.

Thank you sir. The sand dunes makes good pictures.

Wow....youve got a great eye. Excellent pictures and glad to see another Michigander.

Thank you sir.

2. Thank you again! It worked out very well, this trip. I had been applying for jobs since I turned 16 with no luck, and since I had not got one before this trip I was able to go. Just today I got a call, interview tomorrow :victory::victory: Hopefully next year I can at least make part of it with my Jeep. Or if my dad gets the job he is looking at in Sault Ste. Marie, that will make it a whole lot easier :sombrero:

3. Thank you again, will do!

Love those pictures of the lakes. Northern Michigan is truly a special place in the summer time.
