Seriously though... if the tent structure is inflatable, why not a separate inflation chamber for the floor/mattress inflate to taste.

I have to second this.

Really why do none of the manufacturers offer this option. I mean honestly, it would not only save weight, but increase comfort exponentially. Hell I bet someone like thermarest would even be willing to partner with a brand.


I have spoke to a Big Agnes rep, who I used to deal with when I was in the outdoor industry, and he claims that BA has toyed with the idea of a RTT with inflatable floor. Especially since weight isn’t the main concern like their backpacking tents.
