Looking forward to a testing report!
Will you have to do anything special to add a 4 or 5 point harness? Internal bar? Bolt to the floor?
Sounds like you found a great solution...can't wait to see the pics!

OK the build is back on!! Monday Travis and I will be starting on my rear bumper! as I need it reaaly by tuesday for my court date...
wonderful Scottsdale PD... got pulled over a couple weekends ago because my license plate was not in the "usual" place. I then didn't have mud flaps or a light on my tag, and of course took my center console out when I put the seats in because of size issues so I didn't have my registration or insurance papers on me. well he did his duty (i said duty) and came back with a shocking (to me) announcement! I forgot about a ticket I got in Payson last summer and because I hadn't paid my license was suspended!! since January!:Wow1: you would think that when I renewed my truck's registration that maybe a red flag would have gone up... but nope last month when I did that nothing... Well next shock was, new law here in AZ... if you are driving on a suspended Lic. the vehicle you are driving gets impounded:Wow1:
It was kind of funny though when I got my chair out the two officers looked at each other like they were going ot hell! well 4 days later and almost $600 I got my truck back. so on Tuesdat I have to appear with new lic. proof of insurance, light on tag and mudflaps!
So due to necesity a little I will be working on the Dak again soon!!
maybe I'll figure out how to post pictures too...

Ok so on Monday Travis and I installed mud flaps and a light for my license plate, that goes with the whole impounded vehicle thing... They didn't even check that stuff in court the next day!! so that adventure ended up costing me around $760!!!

We were back at it today and got the bumper actually mounted on the truck!!! wooo hooo! and we redesigned the hitch idea so I will be doing that in a couple days. I have a couple jobs stacked up. the side protectors are going to be some sweet deals there! it will be one to watch! might make a roof rack to match even.

next in line on my truck is a snorkle!! oh getting 35's maybe tomorrow or friday pathfinders. I had these on an 80 series that I had and loved them!

Travis has been a great help being that he is a fabricator too so we can see things alike and it really helps to have someone who understands to help hold or to help crawl under the truck for some welding here and there. a very good welder too!
We took some pictures so maybe if Travis can put some up...

More soon!!

Wait a minute. They impounded your vehicle even after they saw you were in a wheelchair. You would think that there would be some leaway for special needs vehicles in the law.
Good to hear you have your rig back and are able to continue on with your build.

p.s. love your sig line. makes me chuckle whenever I read it.:hehe:

Can't wait to see what you are cooking up Corbin. That truck looks better and better every time I see it! Speaking of which, it was good to see you last Friday.

Here's some poser pics from the Wheeler's for the Wounded event...

The dakota has a pretty massive amount of flex in the rear. The IFS on the front is pretty much rigid (side to side), getting up on this rock was accomplished almost exclusively with rear flex.

Corbin's rear is yummy... err. uh. yea.

Nice proof of concept on cutting the bed off at the bottom, too...

The seats and rear trim cutout look great. I bet the seats really make a difference.

I also drilled into my driveway and mounted my bender too!!!:wings:

I'm on a roll!! get it???

Let me know when you want to get together so I can give you the pieces you will need to copy for the hydro conversion for your bender.
