Because of the long running and repeated myth that Action Packers have been discontinued, I wrote to Rubbermaid a few days ago asking if they had been discontinued, or will be in the near future. Here is the response I got from Rubbermaid:


Thank you for contacting Rubbermaid and taking the time to visit our website.

I reviewed this with our specialist, she said the Action Packer is not being discontinued at this time.

I get mine fom Orchard Supply. When they are on sale they are under $30. Regular price is 34.99.

Just bought one yesterday to complete my storage rack. I used lashing straps to secure them.

thanks, they also work great in the garage for keeping the action packers stacked/organized without causing deformation from the weight.

I just found the 8 gallon and 24 gallon Actionpackers in stock at Office Depot locally.

I ordered mine via Walmart online...with the added bonus of free shipping to the house (thus being able to avoid going there altogether). Picked up one to use as a bulk storage bin for camping where I take multiple gun cases and want to make them more discreet.

FYI, Action Packers are on sale right now at Canadian Tire. I'm going to pick up a couple 30L for carrying emergency gear.

They have always been hit or miss on availability from what I have seen. The trick is to grab them when you see them available, especially when on sale. My wife was lucky enough to come across a stack of them at Costco a little over a year ago, and grabbed 6 of them for under $20 a piece:
