Added Center Jump Seat, 06 Savana AWD

I added a center jump seat to our van so I could use a child's car seat between the front seats to save space in the back for camping etc. The seat I used is out of an F-150. The reason I chose this seat is because it has a factory integrated shoulder belt system. This seat is pretty wild with something like 6 cup holders, several compartments and 12v socket.



I fabricated some steel brackets that use the Savana's OEM front seat mounding hardware and the ford jump seats factory mounting holes.



Here is where I used the factory mounting hardware for the front and rear bracket. The steel L bracket is sandwiched between the nut and factory front seat base.

I considered doing the exact same thing. Cool to see it done. I went with a fold down bench seat for knaps on the way back from windsurfing trips.

Here's a link I found for a company that makes a custom jump seat for the Express....way too expensive and I like the look of the F150 seat better btw. Especially like the part about the carpeted kick panel replacing the factory storage compartment on the hump for more leg room I assume.

out of curiosity where's the 12v on this seat? inside the armrest?

Do you have full welds on the under side of the angle iron to tube connection? Those short little tack welds are usually weak and don't have a lot of penetration to them. Just don't want to see that seat become a missile in a front crash scenario.

Yep, was fully welded on bottom.
