Any updates on the suspension/axle situation?

I just put softer springs on mine. Got them through Northern tool 19$ each.

OK, so I think I've got my source http://kmtparts.com/axles-spring-mounted/3500-lbs-axle/axle-sprung-3500lb-springs-extra.html . This'll upgrade the trailer to a 3,500lb axle. Next is to measure springs and get softer ones. Sadly, the axle takes 2-3weeks lead time so I won't have it in time for Desert Rendezvous.

Westy, did you check with Redneck trailer supply. Dexter can make an axle in less time than that and not shipped from the east coast.

I just called them and they quoted a higher price and still at least 2 week lead time.

Axle ordered and it's free shipping to Mira Loma! I can get it on the way out or back from Desert Rendezvous. $145 for a 3,500lb idler axle, with EZ lube spindles. Quite a good "upgrade" for the trailer. Since it was so inexpensive, I might do the shackle modification as well and ditch the slipper springs which drive me crazy on the trail with noise.

Throw the teardrop on a uhaul trailer, pick up the axle on the way to DRV and we can have a Build Garrets Trailer around the campfire night
