Planning to build a 4x6 adventure trailer from scratch. Main questions i plan to use 2x3x3/16ths steel for side frames to timbren axles easily bolt on and 2x2x3/16ths for tongue and front and back rails. frame copies turtle back frame desgin. Is this way overkill? Is putting a RTT on top of trailer with top of tent at 79" going to raise center of gravity too much? also any thoughts on axle placement and how to estimate tongue weight/lenght? I think tongue weight can be managed by moving weight around in trailer. Plan to leave trailer box open for now then later add a top and drawers etc. Is it worth buying Timbren 3500lb HD axles?

Overkill. Yes. 2x3 is a good dimension. 1/8 works. Mine is all 1/8 except the lounge which is 3x3x3/16. It is much larger and has held up perfectly for over 3 years with no signs of failure.
