Now I apparently have to go old school and get a CB if I want to be one of the cool kids on the trail.

i'm right there with you. daniel (the tacoma) kept trying to get in touch but when he saw i wasn't responding, realized i didn't have one. i'm just going to invest in a cheap CB with some good wire and antennae.

My pic's are about the same as the others of camp. May want to get together for a day trip in a few months.

Yes, thanks again, we had a lot of fun, and it was nice to see a big mix of vehicles. Can't wait to do it again!

As for cell phones, I got one call, just before the oil on the trail incident, and it was actually my work asking me to reboot a server.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... too bad for them! Kind of wished I wasn't getting any signal to be honest!

Well it was another cold night and a great crowd, Its a nice area to be shared with a bunch of laid back folks.
I have to say after the camp fire talk im going to have to paint the Tacoma white to "Fit in" when I move out to AZ.
Cant be rolling murdered out I guess.
I had a good time and Im glad to have made it up and spend the weekend with new folks. Thanks

Whoa! What a cool selection of trucks and toys: pinz, mog, d90, JK, disco, taco ... what did I forget? Conqueror trailer - that thing is cool.

Thanks for the ample photos!

Looks like fun. I'll make the trip next time around:smiley_drive:

What he said :)

What a great turnout, wish I could have made it. Hopefully you guys will make another run in the Spring. I've seen the reg. cab Tacoma w/rtt around town, that belongs Daniel, correct? If so, punch Bryan B for me.

Bryan B. My best friend.
Thats funny,
Its more like he should be punching me what with all the automotive mayhen we use to cause with his super charged MX-5 and his M car.
I wrecked one and shut the door to hard on the other, neither of witch he was happy about.
Hench "best" friend. Guys got patients

I was in the Silver Discovery with the rack and lights, Peter is the name i go by! That was a really great trip! Daniel(Zolo), we will hit up Tenn. trails towards the end of the month. I'm starting to have a little bit of cash flow finally so it will be possible for me to go by then.

I really had a blast. It was overload; all the new people, the trucks, the mud --- I could barely sleep. I felt like I was 5 years old and it was Christmas morning.
You guys that made the long trip, you're awesome.

I've got a 3-day weekend scheduled for Feb 20-22 and was thinking of camping up in the Indian Boundary/Flats Creek (TN, off TN-165 {Cherohala Skyway}). We'll go up over the weekend and see how the campsites look. I think I already marked a couple on the gps.

Anybody up for it or is it too soon? We don't have kids so all we need to do to prepare is buy fresh Pop Tarts and pork chops....

Count me in for later in the month! Would enjoy crossing paths this weekend on the recon, too. Holly Flats and the area around it are nice. Waucheesi Mountain is a must-see also.

Citico Creek area is a good place (easy access from Indian Boundary area). There are designated camping places there along the creek, but no charge (last I looked). All the camping near Tellico OHV is highly regulated and costly now, sorry to say, but maybe worth it??.

Can't beat this price, especially on a college budget...$26

Free shipping too.

This is the one I have:

Good price on it as well. It's advantage is the battery pack with 10" stubby antenna for true out-of-the-truck handheld use (short range only, of course). And it has NOAA weather channels too.
