Can anyone make the "bank" thing easy, as in left and right? Where I find them they are listed as left and right.

Are these cats going out due to oil burning issues? Do most of you have oil consumption issues as well?

If i remeber the number one cylinder is on the pass. Side of the motor. Or right side
So that side would be bank number 1.
So.

Rigt side bank #1
Left side bank #2.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Left side of your vehicle is your left while you're sitting in the driver seat.

Anyway, I crushed my converter the day i bought my truck (getting stupid offroad) back in '05. There are 2 converters, one below each manifold then there is a resonator then a muffler. I replaced both converters with Magnaflow CA emmisions cats, deleted the resonator and replaced the factory muffler with a stainless Magna unit. Started burning oil in '08 which we all know ruins converters, stopped burning oil in '11 and they still work fine.

I just had had this same code in my 01 LTD and I put Seafoam in my gas tank (add seafoam first then fill up) and just cant believe the check engine light dissapeared after two days never went back and I didnt even clear the code. PO0421 code also relates to dirty or restrictive exhaust flow in cat converter and maybe that's what Seafoam did- cleaned it up.
