Air Tank

Do you guys think it would be safe to mount a CO2 tank in the area behind the rear axle of the FJ Cruiser. The gas tank is in front of the rear axle.

If the pressure is similar to nitrous oxide, it is 750psi.

I think it would be a royal pain to turn it on and off before and after a trip, connecting the hose, and removing it for refilling.

If you mount it there, run a line and mount the regulator in a remote but easy to access location. That will get rid of the above issues.

cheers

I still considering an oasis unit.

Curious - why Oasis? As an alternative, have you looked at Viair? Prices are very good and they can be had in 100% duty cycle versions.

Never heard of Viair - thanks for the heads up. I'm not going to buy until I've had the chance to go to the Off-Road Expo in Pomona next month.

If you built an expansion chamber for the CO2 liquid, you wouldn't need to have the CO2 bottle upright for it to operate. This is how a lot of the CO2 powered paintball markers are designed.
