Alaskan Campers

I went to their website to request info and got some kind of non-response from it.... are they still doing business?

I'd be very interested in one of these next year for my family if they are still making them and are still a quality product.

Most likely going to flatbed a 2001ish F350 Superduty Crewcab.

The owner posted on WTW, they are definitely still in business, and according to him (Bryan) they plan to be for a long time.

Web presence is not a strong suit at Alaskan Campers. I called the phone number on the web page listed above (360-748-6494) and got an answering machine that makes it sound like the company is still in business.

It's a small company, the more time they spend on the phone or the Web, the less time they spend building campers. Unfortunately in this click happy era, everyone wants an instant response, acting like it's still 1970 will catch up to them,maybe- they have been doing things the same way for 50 years and it seems to work.

You are correct, though. The internet is a real part of doing business in today's world and, for someone like myself living in the central highlands of Mexico, it would be nice to pull up a web page and take a decent look around.
Hopefully they will get some net savvy supporter to dial them in a bit.
If they have the link on their page for contact info it should work and, if not, be addressed or removed. But, that is just my opinion and probably only matters to me.

Personally, I will visit their site when I am ready to go next year and I will talk in person with them but it helps to be armed with as much info as possible.
I will likely visit the ATC site as well but I do like the Alaskan no canvas aspect and they seem pretty darn bullet proof.

Bottom line is I am just happy they are still doing what they do.

The few times I called I always got ahold of someone, sometimes the person that answered could not help, but they told me when to call back. I ( me personally) try not to waste too much of their time, being that I am rebuilding/ restoring a 30 year old camper, not buying new.
Even considering I was buying small parts for a 30yr old camper, they were very helpful

I talked to Brian from Alaskan this last winter at a sportsmen show in PDX. He said they were still going strong. I loved my old Alaskan and they are beautiful campers. Apples and oranges to FWC but they definitely have their niche. They were very helpful to me as well as I was rebuilding my Alaskan.

Awesome.... that's where I'm headed with the flat bed.
Weight will be a consideration but we shall see.

I stopped by and talked to Bryan today on my way up I-5 in Chehalis, WA. They are busy producing custom units, and have no production slots for a few months, but would be happy to sell a production slot to anyone wanting an Alaskan Camper.

Additional: all Alaskan Campers are custom made to order, and they have developed some additional size (width) options for flat bed applications. They had a flat bed cabover with a custom indoor shower installed being completed.
They are also working on an updated/modern website.

i do love mine, and i think used, they are a fabulous camper for state parks and beaches if found in great shape. but even being an owner and a fan, i'm sure i'd go a different route if buying new and planning on medium to difficult trails. too much flex in the stick build. i wish they would evolve with more ridged, moisture resistant, lighter construction. they do sell, and thy have a loyal following, but so did packard.
