You could probably source a used one for about $500 or less.

you know, i see these deals all the time but never in my area, oh well. on a side note: i replaced my manual trans in my rig and its not a terrible job! soured my replacement from a salvage yard, 460.00 to my door!

May not even be the R380. According to the ad it might be the transfer case, which you can get for even less.
For $500, if it were in Atlanta I wouldn't even be asking for photos, I'd be asking when can I come get it.

6/10 times putting it in diff lock with get it going (broken cv or axle or diff with open center diff = no forward progress) 2/10 it is a busted t-case 1/10 busted transmission 1/10 stripped input/output between the t-case and trans.
