Alternative to big $$$ drawer sliders?

Teflon has poor abrasion and cut/tear resistance.

I believe cutting boards are typically made with high or ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE or UHMWPE). This stuff has excellent abrasion & cutting resistance and the coefficient of friction is low.

You are probably right, don't know why I said Teflon.

You are probably right. I just assumed it was Teflon. Anyhow it is heavy duty material.

What do you guys suggest I use to lock drawers in place while driving so everything doesn't go flying out? The drawers I'm thinking of aren't big huge drawers like these. They are small kitchen drawers in a Toyota Sunrader motorhome.

I made my drawers the full length of my pick-up box, when closed there is only about a 1/4" between the handles and the tailgate. My tailgate is my lock.

Yes most likely it's UHMW PE, that stuff is almost indestructible. Perfect for sliding applications (very low coefficient of friction), and also for applications with abrasion and impact.

I finally found some details on how TruckVault does their drawers. They use a roller flush mounted to the frame under the front of the drawer, and a roller mounted to the inside of the drawer at the back. This makes it pretty simple constuction, since you're just making a box for the drawer and the frame to support the top. I'll post here if I find a source for the parts.

I think something from these guys might work very well.

They have lots of different styles to choose from and they use them to move airline cargo containers. I am just getting started in this whole process but it is looking better.

i "repurposed" an industrail drawer that my work was getting rid of. it was brand new. i rearranged parts of the support structure to fascillitate my needs but it is much stronger and more durbale than the big money drawers i have seen. i have another unmolested drawer that is a few inches taller, i just no need for it at the moment.
