Drove up through Young to the Rim Road, they had a recreation of the Pony express going on - pretty cool, nice easy pace on the pavement, new horse/rider every mile.

Made it, set up next to the fancy rigs, didn't have as many visitors as expected since everyone veered off to the Mogs when they saw them

If you have a half-mil to spend, you can get a pretty fancy rig - the orange PerkyMog was fantastic on the inside - Teak, stainless, very deluxe. Makes 'em happy, and they have the $, so more power to 'em.

Wow that really shows how big the topper really is!

Mogs are cool but now that I have an ambo I don't even want to think of messing with something bigger. Parking it, trying to turn it around in trees, getting through traffic, no thanks!

Excellent job on the bed support Tony! That's the same system I'm planning on using in mine, except I will be using the factory bench location.

Tony,
.
What model JL amps are you using? Do they stack like that by design? Also, how was the ride with all the rear end improvements?

hd 750/1 for the sub
hd 600/4 for the doors and the to-be-installed rear.
They are designed to stack like that, pretty tidy package and a lot of power that fits under the seat.

The ride is firm and more confident, seems like the right combo of leaf vs air springs. Big ranchos seem fine, my wife found the ride rough when she was sleeping on the back bench while driving, but it feels fine from the front seat. That is the only one I will be in when it is moving anyway. I still have a big sway bar available for install, but I will drive it for a bit first.

Tony, just wanted to pipe in and let you know how much I love your ambo. Very very very clean work and awesome foresight.

Thanks for keeping this updated for us gawkers.

LOL, the other end of the spectrum, . . . does that mean we're not "pretty"? You did get a great shot of Brice trying to hide his camp behind my truck.

Just found this and read the whole thing. Nice work. You def have some mad fab skills.
I like what you did w/ it.

Hah! Your beauty is of a much more rugged variety. Hope you got some use out of the Flagstaff mt bike trail maps.

Bad delay here, got buried in slaving.

Rugged we are, and now I'm building myself a Rugged overlanding trailer, it'll be pretty to . . . at least on the inside ;)

I've not yet had time to use the maps, been keeping them safe though :) I'm really hoping after I get this trailer kitted out I'll be back spending more time in the `Zona, . . . much prefer it over the Mojave.

Very nice. The truck is definitely an FL-60, but I don't recognize the module-- Horton, maybe? If it has the Cummins engine, it would be a nice truck, and the price is probably only a bit more than it would be worth on a trade-in. I wouldn't touch it with the CAT or the Mercedes engine, though - both don't have much of a reputation in this time period.

Why do FL60's look lowered when they have an ambo box on the back? Most of my local ems run them and all of them look lowered.
