Brad,

I don't know how you feel about parking and leaving your trailer at a campsite.......... but you could take your trailer up the road to Young. Find a campsite up near the the upper entrance to the trail we took. Un~hitch at your campsite.....chain that thing to a huge tree! Then explore the trail backwords and it's only about 7 miles in/south..... to find some really nice areas. When done.....you have your trailer to come home to!

Enter Here........... from the main road to Young

Sounds like a good plan to me. There are lots of camping options near young. My trailer locks down pretty well and the unusual Treg hitch helps by making towing it away a challenge. Usually I am remote enough to not worry about it too much.

Thanks Mark! I got a funny one of you taking the pics of us all at the water crossing. Your stance just looks painful!
Unforetunately the next three weekends are all booked for me. Blah!
If you want to do a night run during the week while you're still in town let me know. :elkgrin:

Yes.........sometimes getting good shots can hurt!.......hehe:smilies27

I did some study on the ruins and hikes in the area and found this site.

Looks like if we kept going that day we would have seen the area at the link above. Looks like they are calling it a 4 hour hike.

~~~~~~
It looks like this next link is the second area where we spotted the ruin with the binoc's..........
http://www.toddshikingguide.com/Hikes/Arizona/Tonto/Salome6.htm
Looks like up to a 6 hour round trip.
