Greetings from Agadir, Maroc!

I met with a friend from Hamburg yesterday, after doing the trip from Dakar to Agadir in 48 hours.
Had a warm shower, a few beers and further fixed the truck.

Here are some more impressions from the Africa Eco Race 2012...

I am off to Nador now and hopefully wil be back in France tomorrow. Still a long way to go and need to keep my fingers crossed that the Rhino makes it for the remaining trip.

So long,

Robert

Hi,

well I bet you´re interested in the engine :) but I won´t lift the cloth on this for the time being ;)

The gearbox is ready and at the workshop and I guess we´ll commence late Februar or early March. Before I need to fix a few things, make some modifications on the truck. With the new engine and gearbox I will also upgrade to a new brake setup, which I had been after since last summer.

But that´s something for my return to Europe I guess.

For now I am still in Africa, enjoying a great meal at McDonalds in Rabbat, Marrocco (amazng how well it can taste after 11.000 miles on the road...

My dad, who´s currently doing "home base" for Rallyewerk again, just found this photo-slide show from Golf Resort Hotel Bonalba, Alicante, where a lunch had been arranged for all the competitors and teams of the Africa Eco Race 2012, as we were driving down from St. Cyprien (France) to Almeria (Spain)...

So long,

There will be more images next week, together with a little reportage on the past 4 weeks.

And then it´s fixing the Rhino again. All parts are ordered, the new HD bumper is going into production tomorrow and the new transfer case is in the making....:wings:

Thanx. There will be many more with the full story soon.
I am busy writing and in the time between I am stripping the Rhino to change all bushings and fix the most important things.

And I also keep receiving images from other journalists and competitors, too.

Dakar - Agadir in 48 hours?!

It took us 4 hours to get out of Dakar then another 6 to get to St Louis :) you should have stopped off at the Sleeping Camel for some R&R.

Loving the pics Robert.
