An introduction and another stupid question

The upholstery shop called me today, told me they finished the front panel and that I could pick it up whenever I was ready. That they would pro-rate the work they have done and refund the remainder and that they would not be finishing my project because they underestimated the job. Needless to say, having just 1 panel does me an entirety of zero good.
The search continues. 😫

Hmmm, maybe take it down to a border town like Nogales, Sonora and see if you can get it done more affordably? The quality of craftsmanship of folks on the south side of the border is usually very impressive and not budget busting.
I think my best bet is going to be a place that does golf kart canopies in the local retirement town (Sun City) I'm going to check with them and maybe a shade structure specialist. I guess part of the issue was just the size, something about needing a bigger sewing machine then they had available

Well 💩
I knew it was leaking a bit, was hoping it wouldn't be this bad. Anyone dealt with this?
I feel like any solution I come up with is going to be wrong and this is a no-win situation, but I'm thinking I'll cut the ceiling past the rot and piece together 1X and panels to fill in what I cut out, then just seal it up nicely and pray🪚🙏
I'm worried I'm going to mess up the fiberglas roof in the process of messing with the ceiling.

Upon closer investigation there turns out to be a foam layer in the ceiling and the rot never made it past that, so just the perimeter of the vent is rotted out. Going to fill in what I can with strip wood and epoxy, then go way overboard sealing it from the topside.
For the record cussing will not fix it, neither will crying, I've done a bit of both. 😆

Ok check it out I had an idea, I'm gonna jam a couple stir sticks in there and epoxy em into a brick. I didn't get any fancy RV products for the roof because well

Used a ¾X¾ strip board and stacked a paint strip, that'll give me some structure to screw the vent trim back into. Then I filled the rest with a putty. Once everything harderns overnight im going to brush on a coat of sealant, put the trim back up, then I'm going to use a spray texture to cover where I ripped down the wallpaper.
JB Weld for the win!!
