Amazon.com is offering a "one cent" sale on Android smart phones, provided that you sign up for a new two year contract. That's right, phones that you'd have to spend $200, even $300 to purchase direct from the carriers cost only $0.01! Most current Android phone models are part of the sale, including the new Droid Razr LTE for Verizon, and Samsung Galaxy S II phones from all the major carriers.

The sale ends Nov. 28, or when supplies are sold out.

The first phone running Android 4.0 (also called Ice Cream Sandwich) is available starting today. It's called the Galaxy Nexus, built by partners Google and Samsung. Verizon has first crack at this phone in USA. Equipped with 4G LTE radio, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus list price is $300 plus a two year service contract.

One Verizon reseller is offering the Galaxy Nexus at a big discount. Letstalk.com is offering the Galaxy Nexus for $229 with contract. For a limited time, entering the discount code "$75VZN" when you purchase the phkne will reduce the cost of the phone $75 more.

Update: Now Amazon.com is offering the Galaxy Nexus for $150 if you're not a current Verizon subscriber.

Cool! Thanks!

I knew about most of them, but not the 'sync' part.

When I'm at the cabin, which has little to no cell reception, I use the 'Airplane Mode' feature.

It saves some serious battery life, because the phone is not 'searching for service'.

On the 22nd, there was a major software update, at least on Verizon, for the Razr. Cleared up a couple of quirks on mine.

From time to time, Amazon offers a good deal on the purchase of a new Android phone when you sign up for a new two year contract with a service provider. This morning, the deal is $99 for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone on the Verizon LTE network. That's $200 less than Verizon usually charges for the phone. The Galaxy Nexus runs pure Android 4.0, without the custom user interface that Samsung uses on its other phones.

Yesterday, Amazon offered the new LG Spectrum phone on Verizon LTE for $79, a $120 savings over the price Verizon charges. That deal is still available, but it's on backorder so you won't get your phone immediately.
