Another clean Ham mount option.

I admit it I'm a wimp. I don't like drilling into things. Picking up the practice when I was going after my pilot license, I mounted the head of my radio on a kneeboard instead of using any ram mount or modifying the overhead console, et cetera.

I found something that allowed me to mount my radio without drilling. It actually slides into existing bolts. What do you guys think...yeah yeah I already cleaned everything after the pics were taken :)

How intrusive is that into the passenger's space? Seems like on a long trip iwth a passenger, they might not like it.

I didn't get a picture from that angle, but it really doesn't protrude into the passenger space that much at all. Today nearly all my trips are with passengers so I did have to take that into consideration.

That's pretty cool.

The site says it fits 1997 LC's but doesn't mention the previous years, I'd imagine at least the years with the same dash 94(?)-97?

Do you think it's sturdy enough to hold a 7" monitor? It's a bit heavier than a faceplate or an ipod...

Lastly, judging from the pictures it appears the fit between the center dash trim and the dash is just fine. Does the bracket leave a gap between the dash pieces?

Mine's a 1996 so it at least fits our latest model dashes. I think it could easily handle an LCD screen. I can't make it move after tightened down. Yeah, it just kind of slides through the dash faceplate and the trim. I was worried about it bulging out but I don't have any problems. It's angled at the perfect angle to slide between them.

can you trim the extra material, above the radio, from the bracket to make it flush?

Actually, I was going to try and mount my GPS up there but (gasp) I can't seem to find my GPS unit!
