Another LR in the works!

Hey Matt check out the eastern NC craigslist..there's a 94 d1 in kinston for 800..

Thanks JG-could be good for parts-no idea where I would keep it as the driveway/garage is full but maybe I could find a spot in a barn somewhere.

Went to check on the Disco-the body guy didn't have any ideas and was concerned that there would be more rust in the sides so he wouldn't be able to weld a new cargo floor in place. Not very encouraging. I guess I'll go pick it up and try to figure something out on my own. To get the panel out I need to drill out the spot welds along the sides, do I also drill the (now rusted) spots that run side to side and I assume are the spot welds to the bracing under the panel?

Went and picked up the DI from the body shop, I think the guy was a little surprised but it's not like he had a real suggestion for a fix. I guess his rust/welding guy didn't want to get into the DI.

Time to take out the side panels and rest of the interior to make sure I'm not missing anything.

That sucks. Eastwood has a spot weld drilling bit. Its worth the bucks to properly drill a spot weld.

Don't listen to the body guy. Wire wheel off the rust and see what you've got first. Your floor doesn't look any worse than the one in my 96. Once
I cleaned the rust off, it wasn't so bad. I have one of the Eastwood spot weld cutters and it's great. Do the work yourself and learn as you go along. Buy a small MIG/gas welder. It pays for itself and is really easy to learn.

Just throwing it out there, but if you really want to, I'd be willing to take a look at it. I might could at least give you a little advice. Heres a pic of the floor I redid in my scout:

It was a million times worse than your floor there. As in you could see through the drivers side and the passengers side was almost non-existent.

I may take you up on that MP-I will be on the road until the 7th but after that things will slow down for the rest of the year, I could bring those seats to you at the same time. I'll work on cleaning everything up as much as possible. With Axe, JG, you and I, we're getting up an NC crew.

Sounds like a plan...just let me know.

And yes we are...seems like every other LR owner here is from NC.
