Parabolics

G'day all
well here we are...arrived at Broome and staying at the Cable Beach Caravan Park for 3 days of rest and restocking after the drive trough the Kimberley's comming across the Buchanan Highway and down the Gibb River Rd both of which are Gravel Roads and I have to say that I'm very happy with the Parabolic Springs and Boss Shocks set up. The ride is smoother and the bottoming out over bumps and holes has disapeared. The corrugations are just a rumble. However all this leads to driving faster and therefore higher concentration is required.
The next stop will be the Lighthouse at Cape Leveque and on the way down the beach camps at James Price and Quondong Pts.

you might notice the weather weve turned on for you, but dont worry its all part of the service
if your planning on coming south to exmouth and beyond you might want to check the availability of camps at cape range, otherwise it'll cost a motza in town.
another notable is waroora station just south of coral bay on 14 mile beach
you wont be annoyed by pesky campers cause its 10 k of corrugations in, but the new parabolics should handle it with ease
were heading north via the coast road so we'll keep an eye out for you

I love Tassie its one of my favorite places on earth - but I must say even the water up here is warmer than Hobart at the moment :victory:

Yea.... once we are back from Cape Leveque we will deceide which way we are heading. Swimming with Walesharks was one of the things we wanted to do, but we might have left it abit to late?

the season goes until about July but I think so longs are sharks are spotted they go out. We did ours with "Kings"
it was a fantastic day out and a once in a lifetime experience

Parabolics

Hi all
back from our first trip with Parabolic Springs and Boss Shocks. Done approx 14'000 kms all up, of that about 4'500 kms on dirt roads. As reported on a earlier post the set up works really well and I'm very happy. It took me a while to find the right shock settings as we experienced some rocking especially on some of Queenslands bitumen highways. We travelled over a fair cross section of roads, from smooth to undulating and patchy repaired bitumen to smooth, rocky, rutted, sandy and corrugated dirt roads. The "normal" corrugations are a mere rumble however the "long spaced" ones are still a pain in the neck and have to be crossed slowly.
But still....a big improvement to my previous suspension.

The stone guards on your shocks... were they part of the parabolic package or did you add them yourself?

No mate....I made them myself and swaped them over from my old shocks (didn't even clean them)

Guards for quite a few things are on my list of things that still need to be made. The bash guard for my Watts Link is going to be the most amount of fun...

Hi Adrian,

yes i have heard of it happening to buses that run around the very rough country near alice. the straps may need to be tightened further. not too much though, its a bit of a balancing act.
i have even heard of one truck snapping the stainless straps...
