I ultimately decided that I wouldn't get much use out of it when I move south due to the higher temperatures. I think installing AC on a spacekap would go against the idea of having a lightweight minimalist camper.

A/C is pretty much a necessity 3/4 of the year depending on how far south you go.

You could always run a "portable" A/C unit. That way its only taken when needed.

Perhaps have a look at the Rigid Micro 12v DC Aircon, 13.3 x 8.2 x 5.7 inches, 11 pounds weight, $550 to $570.
