Another tie down option

I started to muck up the other one, so I figure Ill start my own.

I picked up two of these from TSC today....

The large flat washer I had to purchase seperate. I also threw a quarter in there for size comparison.

Heres one showing the ring being screwed in...

And here, if you pretend the washer is your mounting surface, you can see what youll have exposed when the ring is not screwed in.

I was only able to get 2 because thats all they had. I need 4 more. They were $5.54+tax. 5,000# rating on a straight pull. No listing for a 45 degree pull.

good find Opie, i think this is a really good option...i may check them out when i get to that point in my build :beer:

Im going to try to get them in this coming Tuesday. I should be able to get the other 4 I need as well.

I hate to start another, so I'll "muck up" yours. Sorry.

I added marine hardware for tie downs. There is quite a selection available :Overtons search- cleat There are many nice options. Some even retractable.

I needed attachment points up along the bed rail. Below the stock tie loops are adequate.

I have used these for tie downs in just about all of my trucks over the years. They work very well and are easy to install. I have moved on to the stainless steel ones because once the cad plating get scratched they start to rust. You can get them in MSC or anywhere that specializes in fasteners. (hoist rings)

Thanks for the advice! Ill check that out tomorrow before I do any installing.
