Any experience with electric motorcycles

yeah, I been eyeballing the KTM FreeRide.. cheapest one I ever found was $8k..

thats only $269 because its garbage thats gonna break on its first time out.. you cant even get a decent mountain bike w/electric assist for less than 5x that, so whadda ya expect?

Range is still not suitable enough for me, we have thousands of miles of dirt bike trails.. an electric would be more suitable for keeping on your own property IMO than adventure riding.. they charge up quick as ******** off mains power so you could ride all day with two batteries you swap out between.

Or thoughts about laser rust removal... it’d be so much easier than sandblasting if it isn’t a scam.

High power lasers can be used to ablate material. I have seen them used to remove paint, and even "laser peen" certain materials for better fatigue resistance. I doubt anything under 100k$ would work well though.

I am going to guess that's actually a 1/10 scale model? Cause sub 300$ is not possible.

Yeah, must be a typo, these are listed for ~3,000k elsewhere. Maybe they forgot a zero?

Im not a rider. But also would like to have a run around/explore rig. Like Tom cruise in Oblivion, interesting build on those and he got to keep one.

From what Ive heard from dirt bike buddies. Its like a compromise bewteen a mountain bike and a dirt bike. The weight, the range. The price. Most think its a fun toy. But to get range/explore and fill up. Its still gas as the winner. And some just dont like the weight of that battery pack vs a regular lighter mountain bike.

But I think for around town. Or local shorter trails. An e type enduro mountain bike would make getting up grades easier lol. Or if you have a short commute to work an ebike mountain would be cool to cut traffic.

I like the CAB Eagle in olive green.

Maybe somebody should buy one. See if they honor their published price.
I would do it, but dont ride motorcycles any more...

I’ve not ridden since I got taken out in 2002. I’d mostly use something like that to run around locally at home... or near where I camped. Even at a bargain price, I don’t know it would be worth it.

If someone has really good fraud protection on their credit card, what’s there to loose?

If it was like a Pampera Gas Gas it would be a blast... even with limited range and possibly speed. I’ve only got limited range these days anyway.

I have a Xiaomi M365, which is the consumer version of a Bird electric scooter. Can't do any off-roading, but great to zip around town and the campground. They have a 18 mile range.

$400

Must be a typo. I travel with my electric mountain bike and use it all the time while traveling and around town. I do think about the motorcycle but I don’t think they are as practical. You are allowed on more trails and bike paths if it has pedals, no one has ever checked power setting so it’s not like you will get a ticket for a powerful eBike. If you build your own you can save thousands, its not hard.

Some of my favorite setups that are close to being motorcycles...

https://backcountryebikes.com/ these are set up to tow a trailer.

https://riderungu.com/product/electric-juggernaut-rubicon-trail-edition/ cool video of them doing the rubicon, not sure how practical this is though.

The Sur Ron seems to be very popular. The amount of after market support and plethora of youtube videos is staggering.
