Any more room for M101 builds? My "RubiChaser" build.

What about a mount like this , under your hitch , in case you ever have to unhook the tailer , you can still to it out with-out destroying wiring and your hitch .

here is mine during construction and a pic of the extended leg. it is just 3" x 1" channel i think but it fits just perfect...but take it from me get yourself a hand crank adjustable leg and remove this one all together. once you put more weight in the trailer and load up that tongue box and stuff like that you will find that getting it onto the hitch alone is a PITA. especially since behind your jeep is a spare tire and you have the box on the front of the trailer...limits room and even tough to get another person to help. i'm just sayin, and this is from experience with an almost identical build.

looking good by the way. when are you gonna tow it up to a camp out in the okanagan? have you contacted me already? i can get you the fenders just like mine in the pic below for tire coverage, those are 35-12.50's.

Hey Overlander,
Thank you, It is your trailer that inspired me to build one! You did absilutely amazing jon with your! I was trying to contact you through ih8mud but could not get a respond. Okanagan is where I go most of the time camping/hunting. I would love to meet up and get to know you better.
As for the fender, that would be absolutely Fantastic! I'd love those.
I'll PM you my number, hope to meet you one day!
Thank You,
Sam

Yeah, when the trailer's loaded, it sure helps to have the lunette near the pintle. It's kind of hazardous in itself, but what i did was get a Hi-Lift jack and mounted it on the back of the trailer where it's handy to get to. I get things lined up, then can use the jack for that last little inch or two. That way it's minimally dangerous [although still good to be careful with those things].
Pics below.

I made a table out of wood that has a channel that I can lock over the lip of the trailer. I used mine on the side of the trailer, which won't work for you, but one that's short enough to fit on the rear lip of the bed would work for you.
Sorry no pics in my camera on that one yet.

Good idea! What I may do is install an external tracking for the table and have a removable table top with male side of the tracking sitting inside. That way when I need it, I'll simply pull it out and attach it. It's not new, there another great thread about external mount for a table.
Here is a pic what I want to do.

That's ok, thanks for all the ideas! I think I will follow advice and get an adjustable drop leg on a wheel. That way I dont have to lift it to attach it, as well as when it on a wheel, it's easier to park it in my garage.
Thanks for all comments!

Can you give us some more details on your lid. I just bought an M100 and am trying to figure out a lid for mine as well.

THANKS

Congrats on M101! You will love it!
I made my lid from a 16 ga steel, I bought a standard 10' sheet.
Here is a diagram I used (from another member on this forum)
1855a6fc-7823-8b20.jpg
which was very helpful!
First, I brought the sheet metal to metal shop and got it cut to size i need and bent, and after made a rectangle base out of 1" square tubing that I welded on. After, the remaining 2 side came. I braced the lid from the inside (2 braces) and its strong enough to hold the RTT. I bought weld on hinges and attached the lid to the trailer.
Gas shocks came last. I used a pair of 250 pound shocks and find them strong enough to lift my 100lb lid and a roof top tent. (will take more detail pics of shock brackets as well)

I will try to take more detailed pictures of it from inside and will post them later today for you.
Hope this gives you an idea where to start with.
Thanks, Sam
