This was just posted on the PanAm Travelers Facebook group...fly in with your points, get the truck to Mexico, get it fixed and drive it back! Being a manual transmission on a 2WD, I can't imagine it would be too hard...

DESCRIPTION
Hi everyone! We are two travellers from Belgium and are selling our beloved “Chula”, a cosy home built on the wheels of a solid 1996 Dodge Ram 2500.
When we arrived in Belize we unfortunately experienced car problems and the transmission broke. We tried to fix her but because of a time schedule we could not stay in Belize. As a result the campervan still needs to be fixed.
-> A mechanic installed a new transmission but this was badly done and caused the bell housing to break.
-> These things need to be repaired. There are two good options:
1) We would suggest to tow the car to Mexico in Quintana Roo because it is part of the free zone, no vehicle permit required so the car can stay here as long as needed plus it’s easier to find the proper parts in Mexico than in Belize.
2) You could also order the parts online from the US and let the car be fixed in Belize.
INFO
The compact dimensions and patched up looking outside allows you to go and park anywhere under the radar. Whilst the spacious inside is well equipped with a fixed bed, full bathroom and even an oven, so you can comfortably enjoy freshly baked nachos in your sofa. There is plenty of storage room, as well as enough solar power to charge all your electronic devices.
SPECS BELOW
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although the car is from '96, it has a very strong engine that does its job fully and never let us down. It has taken us everywhere we wanted to go and no steep hill was too difficult. The speed/kilometer reading doesn’t work anymore, but we decided not to fix it, because we always use Google Maps for navigating, which also shows the speed.
Over the years, the car had good mechanic maintenance, no problem left untreated:
• 2022:
-New power steering line
-New brake cylinder
-New tire
-Renewal of motor & steering wheel oil and change of brake fluid
-New water pump
• 2021:

CAMPER
Very spacious slide-in SportKing camper, fully renovated in 2020. Small crack above the door, but the door closes well.
Some small repairs to the outside which we have travelled with without problems. There is one rooftop window missing (I can send you the link on Amazon it’s around €50). And at the front near the sleeping cabine some of the plating was torn off. So the insulation is visible but it did not give us any moisture problems.

Unpossible that rig could do the Pan American. You need 4x4 or better yet 6x6 and a biiiiiiiig camper with solar and a battery bank that could power a small city.

That would be an easy fix. Fly down with a new bellhousing and install it yourself with a floor jack and some hand tools.
