Anyone seen this Renogy 72ah battery pack?

Interesting, I sent the link to a friend who recently got himself on a CPAP and was worried about travel.

He didn't buy one yet but I'm tempted at this price to grab one and put it through its paces, see if it would even be fine powering my fridge for a few days of cloudy + solar panel assist. If it is, I could definitely lose some lead acid weight.

Drawback might be recharge rate limit?

To be clear, I'm looking at a no-install solution here, just throw the fridge and a panel in the vehicle along with the camping gear, use the panel when possible, charge from the vehicle otherwise/as needed

interesting. Some of these type battery packs cannot output (run your fridge) while being charged (solar etc). Can this one?

Had a little more time to look at it - mfr appears to say that it can be charged while also charging something else, but it may 'hurt' the battery life.

Not sure if this is lost in translation - do they mean it will wear out faster, or do they mean something else.

Also curious - they recommend for solar only connecting a panel <100 watts, and not using any type of controller between them.

By "hurt" they likely mean that it will wear out more quickly. Look up the Google reviews of Renogy before you buy something from them and not the product reviews on their own website which they can control.

My experience with Renogy is that it is cheap for a reason. It's a roll of the dice. If it works, great. If not, you're out your money. 72 Ah of 12 volt capacity at $159 is so much cheaper than any other form of battery out there it seems too good to be true.

The device states it is input limited to 60 W so charging will be relatively slow and why you can't use a 100 W panel to charge it. Also, what's the peak amp draw of your fridge when the compressor kicks on? That may exceed the rating of this device.

Pretty sure I measured my fridge max out at 60watts but my meter doesn't catch the first surge properly, learned this when powering our Vitamix blender was a requirement for a previous build on inverter power

Anyway, I will probably not spring for this unit - it's so close though - bump up the price if you got to but also give me jumpstarting feature and some fast charging ability. Maybe lose the wireless charger. YMMV

If it works for someone though, it's a whole lot cheaper than current Li battery banks like the Dometic PLB. And sounds great for CPAP folks

No complaints about my Renogy panels but I've never tried their other stuff
