We bought this for our van in 2013. It worked when got the van, but almost as soon as we left on our trip it gave up. We took it to Marc Wassmann of XPCamper, who sold us the unit, and he diagnosed the problem. It worked for about a week after we left his shop. Once, later, I got it to work for a whole month, but now I'm tired of dealing with it.
Symptoms:
The cooker will fire up and get hot, but a few minutes after the "flame" indicator lights up, it will quit, flashing an "overheat" error code. The problem that Marc diagnosed was a faulty fuel line connection, causing air to leak into the fuel line. I tightened the connection a number of times, and sometimes it would work for awhile afterward.
I figure it will cost about $50 to ship this within the US - if you want a project it's yours for the cost of shipping.
The ceramic cooktop is in good shape, and everything you need to run it is there, with the exception of the fitting that you attach to the end of the fuel line to connect it to the stove. I'll include the one I have, but I had to cut the fuel line to remove the unit from my van, and I'm not sure if you can swap it over.
