Nice work, I might be interested in buying one from you at some point. (PM me if you are going into production.)

Any plans to make one to replace the factory "skid-plate" up front?

14.66 lbs. I will switch the bolts later. I thought about running some grade 8's initially but Lowes was out of my desired size, would carriage bolts be better?

Wow - that's a pretty slick weight. My Belly pan is around 50+ pounds. Carriage bolts have a smaller, rounded head and thus are more likely to glance off of rocks where a hex head of any grade is going to take damage. The hole in your skid needs to be squared off though to match the square shank of the bolt - easy enough to do with the aluminum skid even with a hand file.

I am planning to replace all of them. I was just going to work it front to back but, since there was no skid plate for the tranny, and I'm doing the McGrew trail next month I thought I should get that one done first. I would hope to have the front two done before then but who knows if I'll get that far.

Today I'm going to try and nail my friend down on a minimum order quantity and a price, and to go over my design for the front 2 skid plates. I wanted it just to be one piece, but over the phone he's thinking a two piece would be easier to make. (?) We will see.

I've always been a fan of those style soft tops on the back of a pick up. Not a fan of hardshells on the back of pickups.

Makes a sweet bimini top when you roll up the sides for the doggies.

Oh yeah, my dog loves it. I love it to when I'm at camp it gives a nice place to snooze while keeping you out of the sun and lets the breeze blow through.:ylsmoke:

Indeed! Oregon is an underrated place of much beauty.
I hear ya man, but in some ways I LOVE that nobody really knows how great it is... there are already too many people up near where I live. I need to get out of the city and back to the country eh.

I took the Ray Attkinson and other OREGON books with me when i moved to Australia and the people there couldn't belive what this lovely part of the world looked like. I even got asked if we saw big-foot and dinosaurs all the time it looked so "Old and ancient" to some folks hahahaha.

Cheers

Thanks Powdaze. The build seems to be slowing at a pace that matches the economy though.:) But I've got a couple of basic things coming, hopefully this month. Sliders and some new shoes and just maybe different wheels.

Cobra 75 WX ST

So now I've added a Cobra 75 WX ST. I really didn't want to bolt it down, and yet didn't want it flopping around and thought that underneath the front cup holders would be a good place for it.

This also keeps that wires and antenna cable hidden away.
When I don't have an antenna plugged in, you can't even tell there's an CB there.

I wouldn't mind some input on antennas. I have a little mag mount but, should I swap to something like a 4 footer?

I like the idea of hiding the base inside the console. I've just stuck the base for mine in between the console and passenger seat. Haven't had any problems with it there... it stays put and doesn't interfere with movement of the seat, but your is cleaner.

I'm using a 4' Firestick type of antenna (fiberglass). If you're sticking with a mag mount, I'd recommend a K40.
