ARB 4Runner Build

The bumper looks great but the tires look a bit anemic. Any chance of shodding it with bigger or more aggressive shoes?

have you tried to do an alignment yet? I can't see how you can not add after market UCA..

I have the OME 884 springs and shocks up front on my 2011 and i get about a good 3 inch lift..

at that height.. there is no way to get alignment into spec without UCA.. currently I have -0.5 caster!!! and +.9 camber .. waiting on my light racing UCA to come..

just wondering if you guys are ok with alignment specs out of whack.. i mean when NEGATIVE 0.5 caster when factory range is 2.9 - 4.4 caster

and also these are exact same springs that are used for FJ and 4th gen 4runners.. i know suspension is same.. but how much test really went into the 5th gen and these components besides the "will it fit" test??

don't get me wrong.. i'm very happy with my OME suspension.. but with such a big lift even with 884 springs.. i don't see how adjustable UCA is not needed

We have had no complaints about alignment. In fact, the two 5th gen 4Runners we have already outfitted had no alignment issues.

As for the coil springs being the same. In Australia we compared the factory Prado 150 (same chassis as the 5th gen) coil springs to the factory Prado 120 (4th gen) coil springs and they were the same. Thus the reason the OME coil springs are the same (struts are different).

Now the reason we get 3" of lift out of the vehicle is because here in North America the 5th gen 4Runner (same chassis as the Prado 150) has a factory height of 1" lower than the Prado 150 around the world. In Australia this same suspension on a Prado 150 gives you only 2" of lift.

We will more than likely stick with all terrain tires. This is an "overland build" so all terrain tires will be the better choice.

it would be awesome if you can post your alignment out results with the OME springs..

is it possible to get 2.4+ caster and 0.0 camber with factory adjustments and OME springs.. which is a 3 inch lift?

because i was under the truck and the tech showed me how he has no more adjustments on all 4 cambolts...

Both were customer owned vehicles so we don't have the result sheet on hand. They both took their vehicles to local Toyota dealerships to have them aligned.

There should be no issue aligning your 4Runner. This is the same suspension setup Toyota has been running for several years now.

Did you take your car to a Toyota dealership?

No I took it to 2 off road shops and both told me due the amount of lift.. there is no more adjustments available..

I can live with positive .9 camber and negative .5 caster or i can get UCA that allows for more adjustment..

i'm sure you know the effects of .9 camber on tires not to mention the funky stance lol.. and the amazing handling of .5 negative caster :)

When we have this one aligned, we will post the results.

Great build - I LOVE ARB's products. It's just too bad that the 4Runner has become so big and bloated and can still barely fit a 285 tire with 3 inches of lift. It ought to come with 285's from the factory, with clearance to fit 35's with a 3" OME lift.

The new 4Runner has become a Sequoia - I'm just not the least bit interested.
If it had instead been designed to be a modern-day 1984-1985 4Runner, I'd buy one today.

Looking great. VERY interested in your drawer setup. Currently enjoying my ARB awning and fridge on the beach! Keep up the good work!
