ARB Compressor Install With Remote Air Inlet

How does that ARB compressor with mini tank do for filling up tyres?

I have a portable Extreame Outback but it's size make under hood mounting difficult.

Are you referring to the CKSA12 (compact) or the full-size CKMA12? The new CKMA12 is a rocking unit, great specs and thusfar they have proved great replacements for the timeless RDCKA ARB had been using for years. For tires I wouldn't recommend the CKSA12, its just not built for it, step up the CKMA12 and I think you'll be happy.

Understood, but as I read Desert Dan's comment he was asking how the smaller compressor did (If he thinks your tank is "mini" what will he think of the compact compressors tank :D ). Re-reading it I can clearly see he was talking about yours, my bad. :victory:

My compressor was leaking at the solenoid fittings. I removed the fittings, re-teflon-taped them and it stopped.

It cycled about the same as what you're saying.

Well, that's my issue...every fitting is leaking. Got some of 'em taken care of with Teflon tape...others with RTV!

Mine is setup basically the same way but when I switch the compressor on with the badly leaking QD the compressor wouldn't shut off yet wouldn't hold enough pressure to keep the lockers engaged. When I replaced the QD I added the ball valve so if it happens again the valve remains closed and the compressor acts normally. QD's do and will eventually start to leak.

Just an update. No leaks in my QD yet.

Thanks for the info on the high output CKMA12.

I had the smaller version on my YJ and it was slow in filling the 31" tires

I figured that the time might come where I would want the locker on and be crossing through water. I don't want the compressor to easily suck in water from having the stock filter so exposed. I don't think that it would be deep water so much as it would be the tires splashing water into the engine compartment and the compressor's filter.

:wings: Well, my lockers ain't "air" and I'm never in a rush when I anticipate a water crossing

I always have a few zip-lock bags with me ,for many things and covering the comp. is one ofem
