ARB turn signal upgrade.

I have been looking into this as well. I however would like to wire for driving lights (I have blinkers in the headlight housings as well). I'd like to get a little more fill out in front of the truck on the highway and it would also help offroad.

Could these lights be used for that purpose?

I like this mod, but there has to be some less expensive LEDs that will fit this application - I see sets of LED trucker lights for like $20 at Pilot an TA truck stops...

You truly get what you pay for when it comes to LED's. Some of the small units offered by x vision ad the few other ones in th OffRoad market are nice for extra illumination.

Got a picture of the back of the assembly? How are they sealed?

Does it have a cup to mount it in or is it a flat mount?

Also do they have to be steady burn models only or can the newer ones be used if connected properly?

Cheers,
Mike

THe unit itself itself has tabs on either side to accept a surface mount trim ring. There is a raised lip around the whole unit that keeps it from falling through something. I fed them into my ARB through the back and bent the tabs that hold the OE turn signals inplace to hold the LED's. The LED light heads part number will determine what they do when connected. The Whelen 500's spazzed out and I replaced the with a GULP ummm chinese version from X18 Lighting who seems to not be around or at least that I could find. These had multiple flash patterns where my Whelen 500's were a steady burn type meant for road safety. The X18 version of X6's ran me a ton less but given the oppurtunity I would have done the Whelens again.
