Truck as it comes
2015 Crewmax Platinum (white)
I did get the AMP steps and ordered the remote start.
I cancelled the remote start, because it has problems
I ordered the TRD Pro grill .
I picked her up from Findlay
The Plan
Build a Expo/Chase type truck. It will have to have all the right components to qualify this. It needs to be able to pull my camper, or my car trailer with my dedicated trail rig. To keep the Expo thought in mind, it will also have an RTT for when I pull the trail rig.
There is also more plans for this build. I just can't speak about it yet
I had to special order this, so I could get a non Flex Fuel . More on this
Here would be the real reason for not getting a Flex Fuel model. The Supercharger was waiting at the dealer, before the truck arrived. Installed with 8 miles on the clock
Also waiting at the dealer was this
and this..
Transfer Flow replacement fuel tank. http://www.transferflow.com/shop/product/0800114225?p=1&c=10&s=p-
Using the code "TUNDRA100", will get you 100 bucks off your purchase
The tech at the dealer, said it would be no problem to do the tank install, while installing the s/c ,since the tank needed to be dropped anyway. It only added 1 hour ,to the install. He said they use every available inch, in that tank location
Here is what 3/4 of a tank of gas looks like
Can you say range?
After I brought it home, this was waiting for install.
Ba Muffler dual TRD Replacement , with TRD Tailpipes. I painted them with several coats of semi gloss grill paint and heat treated them before the install . This is a mellow system, since I really wanted to keep the drone and cabin noise down, but it is louder than the TRD
More stuff to add
Engel Refrigerator, will be put in the bed. It will stay in the truck along with having a dual battery, solar panel, Ham Radio, cb, and more
This build will not be one of these way over the top, spacer lift builds.
The plan is to run 35" tires with a full suspension under it. I am building this to drive, camp explore and even have a little romping fun .
I decided I love the look of the Rock Warrior wheels, that falls in line with the function of this truck 17" , light, strong and will fit, with close to the back spacing I want to run. More on this later
ARE Z Series shell
This will fall in line with my future mods. I will be doing a hard shelled , Roof Top Tent. I also have a 17 ft Viking camper, i will pull to events and destinations, but the Roof Top Tent will be in place, for when I pull a car trailer, with a first Gen 4 Runner, for harder trails and rock crawling . Then I still have camping off the ground, which is big for the wife .
Suspension
I am working with Nicole at Total Chaos http://chaosfab.com/
to design this as a Mid Travel set up. Long travel requires too much maintenance, fender replacements and also makes the truck much wider. It's already wide enough
Total Chaos Upper control arms
Total Chaos shock hoops
http://www.ridefox.com/
Fox 2.5 DSC remote Resi's in front
Fox 2.5 triple bypass shocks in front
Fox 2.5 DSC Remote Resi's in the rear
Deavers with Total Chaos shackles
Here is the shiny parts, all in one place awaiting install
Everything was on order in mid May . It's all been built and is sitting at Total Chaos for the install . The will be a professional video shot with suspension performance stock, then install, then performance after the install
We will pick a desert location for this. The Suspension install should happen in Mid September, due to some R&D going on .
If everything goes as planned it will be in Total Chaos booth at the Off-Road Expo in Pomona October 3-5th 2015
Wheels and Tires
I decided to go with the Toyota Rock Warrior Wheels in gray.
a few reasons. They are forged and strong, they also are able to fit with the correct backspace to be able to mount 35" tires Even with the stock suspension and no lift
The tires are General Grabber Red Letters 35/12.50/17
They are really strong and probably the sexiest looking tire out.

To fill the area correctly I decided to get the Bushwacker Extended Flares. http://www.bushwacker.com/ I didn't really care for the pocket flares with the bolts. This is basically wheel tire fitment and test fit for the Bushwackers. They will be removed to get them body color matched
A few small adjustments to the skid plate and front inner fender plastic and there is no rub
