I did not get drawn. I put in for early season bull in 5B. Oh well, now I have 6 bonus points for next year, and get to go hunt pronghorn on private land up in Wyoming this year.

I usually just put in for antlerless as I'm just trying to fill my freezer. This was the first time I put in for bull.

I've scouted a 12 mi/2 area pretty hard with good results. I put a few cameras out last weekend and I'm going to pull them Saturday. We'll see what is out there.

Yeah, I got skunked in 7 west, but got to see two bull elks fighting...full on head butts nad antler gouging...fawesome and worth getting skunked.

I got my spike on opening day, Friday after Thanksgiving.

Unit 7E, 12:45, 270 yards, Remington 700 30-06, 180 grain Barnes Triple Shok bullet, one shot, double lung. Unlike the handgun story, no "twitching" was involved.....

I shot from above the rock outcropping above my left shoulder across the canyon. He stood there for a few seconds after I shot, then tumbled down the side of the hill he was on.

Note the entrance at 6 o'clock and the exit at 12 o'clock

The bullet was in the skin just above his right shoulder

Entrance wound after skinning...

Backstrap roast and fajitas for dinner after skinning.....

Breakfast backstrap steaks to go with our eggs...

After boning, right around 205# of meat in the freezer

What are the blaze requirements in AZ? I am not criticizing you, I would like to know just for personal knowledge. Your pics as well as the other thread neither have any blaze. None even laying on the ground, not that it is required for a picture, but usually there is some somewhere.
