Some really cool shots there Brad, definitly a trip to remember. they do peak into the natuiral side of tone mapping like you find in HDR but with out the halos you would find in many HDR shots. the new slider system that LR4 incorporated is perfect for that IMO Great detail, very life like, which is also how I like my HDR. natural, not over the top...etc

a few from our recent UT, CO trip... I've been really liking panomarics lates via Photoshop's Auto Merge feature.. snap a bunch of pix while hand held, just make sure there is enough overlap between pics and Photoshop gets it right every time! When you shoot the individual shots at wide angle, Photoshop will render you a natural fish-eye look in the final panoramic. You can do panoramics in both horizontal and vertical positions. No need for no stickin' tripod or panoramic cameras..

Nicely done Ywen. Those are all great panos that give you the good feel for the area. I agree the latest Photoshop builds panos wonderfully. I threw 15 18MB portait images at CS6 this morning and it tied them together perfectly. Amazingly easy.

Mine was little extreme just for play. I like the very usable size of your final product.

Thanks. .hhaha yeah what were those? 80000x 3000?

With the photoshop tool, you're not limited to stitch photos in a single direction. You can mix them up.. For a lot of the ones above I captured 2 horizontal rows... I have yet to experiment whether Photoshop requires the image to be in sequential order. Or can any random order of images be used. If that's the case, then you can just snap away at a area in front of you to guarantee adequate overlap and photoshop will stitch it together. You then can also use a normal FOV to capture the scene, instead of limiting yourself to a wide FOV.

My girl friends sister is writing a book called Beatrice is Dead, and I just happened across the grave of Beatrice, who died in 1903 in Beatrice NE. Took me two hours of wandering around the cemetery to happen across it, but I thought it was pretty cool to get a picture of the real deal for her book...no idea if it'll get actual use, but I enjoyed the effort anyway!

Nice Moon shot Slavin. Just like on Earth horizontal lighting with shadows make the shot. :victory:

I agree, it would be fun pulling together a bunch of all the great photogs on this forum and go shoot together. Sadly it sems to be tough to do with all our diverse schedules and commitments. Here's to hoping we pull it off someday.

Thanks. I was hoping to get a shot of it full last night but there was a t-storm that rolled through and clouded everything up. Maybe tonight.

If we put something far enough out on the calendar, we might be able to make it work. I've been wanting to explore the Swell this fall or early winter.

That's a wall hanger. I've wanted to go and shoot those canyons for a long time. Nicely done.

LR4 continues to surprise me. Such a great piece of software. Now, if I can get my color correcting skills for FCP on par with my still work, I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks Slavin. Being there to capture the double beams was pretty cool. :)
